Oasis - south 47 km to Kagga Kamma turnoff - turn left - up Katbakkies pass
to go down
Skittery Kloof until you reach Calvinia Road -
Turn right to Ceres - On top of Theron's Berg Pass turn right
on Witklippies road - Follow until you reach R303 - Turn right to Op Die Berg -
Turn right to Cederberg -
Keep left when you get to end of tarred road - 47 km to Oasis +200km
Western Route:
Oasis north over Algeria to N7 - turn left before bridge - to Citrusdal -
turn left at 4 way stop in Citrusdal - over Middelberg Pass to
Op Die Berg -
turn left to Cederberg - Keep left when you get to end of tarred road -
47 km to Oasis 200km

Northern Route:
Oasis - north to Wupperthal - Biedouw Valley - turn left at Englishman's Grave
-Clanwilliam.
( can turn right at Elizabeth Fontein turnoff - to Bulshoek Dam
- turn left to Clanwilliam) -
Turn left into Main street and right at fork at the Old Prison -
out of town onto gravel to Algeria
( can turn right at Rondegat turnoff - turn left at N7 bridge to Algeria) -
back to Oasis 200 - 300km
Eastern Route:
Oasis north to Wupperthal - Biedouw Valley -
Turn right to Uitspankraal -
cross the Doring River - turn right on Ceres road
- turn right again at
Skitterykloof- pass. Kagga Kamma -
down Katbakkies Pass -
turn right to
Cederberg - 47 km to Oasis 200km

The Loop - Can be started anywhere - Doing the circular route around
Matjiesriver and Kromriver
Stop over for refreshments at Oasis
and Kromriver
Cederberg Challenge - Doing the Mountain between Oasis,Nuwerust
and Mount Ceder

Ride Trough - From the South , starting at gravel road at Kagga Kamma's turnof.
48 km to Oasis over Blinkberg Pass. North over Wupperthal , 60 km to Biedouw Valley , or
Oasis to N7 over Algeria 60 km.

Climate
Please ask about the Weather before you book, because it differs from place to place.
The rainfall differs from 1600mm at Algeria to less than 250mm around Oasis, Mount Ceder and Nuwerust
At the Oasis it is 99% frost-free.

Questions Answers
Is there a town called Cederberg? No.It is only a region.
Are there shops and filling stations? No. Each accommodation facility provides
for their own visitors.
Is it accessible by sedan car? Normally the roads are not too bad. The road that comes
in from Ceres
was build 4 years ago and normally is in a better condition.
The road from the N7 is being paved for a small section at
Algeria
Do we get snow in the winter? Yes. The snow line is 1000m, but it can fall as low as 800m.
Can the river crossings get flooded? Yes. Normally the rivers run down quickly. Ask the locals for advice.
They have all the necessary knowledge about the rivers.
Do we have snakes and scorpions? Yes, we do!. Not many - if you see one, just leave it alone!
Are there leopards in the Cederberg? Yes
Do we have to pay to enter the Conservancy area? No. Permits are only necessary for hiking-trails.
Is there cellular phone reception in the Central Cederberg? No, not really.
Can one do over- night hikes? Yes. See our over- night section.
When does the observatory open? Saturday nights, except full moon nights.
Are there mosquitoes? Yes. Some places more than others - ask before booking.
Are there 4x4 routes? No, not in the Central Cederberg. There are only routes to the North and the South.
Are there places for game drives? No, not yet.
Does the road connect Wupperthal and Matjies River? Yes, 4x4's, 4x2's and bikes
Are dogs allowed in the Conservancy? No, Dogs are not allowed on Cape Nature's land and therefore by agreement not on any
members land.
Deposits, are they back payable. Only if cancelled 90% at 14 days before booking, 50% at 14 days before booking
Less than 7 days, no refund.
